I attended a breastfeeding class last night that was so much more informative than i thought it would be. I had nursed with Nina but since she was so early, i never made it to the class that i had signed up for. Thus i pretty much got a crash course in breastfeeding at the hospital shortly after Nina was born. And wow did those nurses leave a lot out. So hopefully this time around will be much easier. The best part was when they listed out the things that dad could do to help mom while she's nursing. :) Lots of good stuff for Mark to learn like giving the baths, diaper changing, burping.... all good reasons for him to get up in the middle of the night with me. ha ha I'm sure he'll enjoy every bit of it too.
Congrats to our friend John and Jolyn Kennedy on the birth of their daughter yesterday, Jacqueline Jo Kennedy.
Happy Valentine's Day to all our friend and family!!

I tried with Tyler, didn't work out because his jaw sits back slightly, so I pumped exclusively. It was a pain but he got the benefits and it was worth it because for six months of his life, he was sick-free!!
Give it a try. If it doesn't work, you can spend $30 for a can of formula that lasts just a few short weeks. I'm sure Mark will see the benefits of BF quickly - Justin did :)
I'm glad that the class was so good. It"s so important to have all the info and support possible-including tips on how Mark can be involved :-) Sally
