1 Month Old

Today Julia is 1 month old. Time is flying by way too fast!! Julia made her first trip to Target and BedBath&Beyond today as well. She slept thru the whole thing. haha She is really becoming alert and following our voices and watching us a lot. She has also given us a smile here and there.
News from boot camp. Kutter is a soft dog. I think that means Mark has babied him all these months he was here and now they are having a hard time training him at bird hunting. From what i hear, he doesn't take discipline very well and so they labeled him a soft dog. I guess he will still be a hunting dog but just not as good as the ones you see on those tv shows.

Who wouldn't want to be us....

Hard to believe but this picture is proof that between the 7 of us girls, we have had an explosion of babies in the last 3 years. 3 years ago Nina was the only child. Now there are 11 babies between us. Just amazing.
We all got together on Sat night cuz our great friend Britt was in town from Arizona. Also it was the twins' 1st bday, Amelia & Gretchen. Of course they were born on our wedding day last year. So Happy Anniversary to us. :)

Britt and her daughter Deni...

Julia and Skylar who are 4 days a part.

Another week has come and gone by so fast. Can't believe Julia is 3 weeks already. This week I took her into work for everyone to see. We were there for 2 hours and she slept the whole time. Maybe she peeked once or twice but otherwise, she was oblivious to it all. Also took Julia to the salon with me yesterday. I was in desperate need for a haircut and again Julia slept the whole time we were there. Maybe she thinks the car seat is the time for an extended nap.

Last night was also Nina's 4th grade music program. We got to listen to them play their recorders, do some singing and dancing and play the xylophone.

2 weeks old

Julia is now 2 weeks old and doing great. Today we went to see her pediatrician for her 2 week check up. She now weighs 7lbs 9 oz ( 25%) and is 20.5" long (70%). So she is skinny and long for her age. ha ha The doctor appt really took a lot out of her as you can see from the picture. She is out cold but not for long as we need to leave to pick up big sis from school. Nina has a softball tourney this weekend (burrrrr). Too bad it's not warm yet. Julia will have to sit this one out at home.

Family and Friends

Mark's sister Anne with Julia.

Mark's sister Laura with Julia.

It's been a busy 2 weeks since Julia's arrival. Grandma's and Grandpa were here to visit. Both of Mark's sisters have been here. Quite a few of our friends have been over. Just a nice time to see everyone and show off Julia.

My friend Laura and her 2 month old Colin.

We haven't really settled into a schedule yet but Julia eats every 2-3 hrs and does pretty good at night going 3-4 hours usually between feedings. She definitely likes to be held. She falls asleep in an instant in our arms and the moment you put her in her pack n play, she starts fussing. Need to break her of that one.

1 week old

Yesterday Julia was 1 week old. Not sure where the week went. Time seems to be flying by yet standing still at the same time. This last week has just been wonderful spending every minute of the day with Julia. Yesterday we tried out the bouncy seat and swing. Mark is such a saint to put that swing together while he was quite tired last night. Julia is startingt to get more sleep over the night hours. She slept last night from 1 am to 6 am, i fed her and we went back to sleep 'til 9 am.

Yesterday was also a big day for my sister, Monica. She had her little girl. Marissa Lynn Hockman, 7lbs 2 oz, 20" long born at 7:22 PM. We're so very happy for her and Kurt and Andrew.

Almost a week has gone by....

Life is pretty slow around the old Friedman household these days. We're pretty much living around Julia's schedule. She definitely has her days and nights mixed up so daytime naps are a must. This is what I came downstairs to after my shower. Too cute.

Mark's parents are still here and they have been such a great help to us all week. The best part is the great meals that Mark's dad Peter has cooked every evening. (Steve Seiler, you would be in awe.....) from roasted chicken to fabulous roasted pork that just melted in your mouth to a great pork ragu pasta last night!! Tonight the boys are firing up the grill for some steaks. Yummy!!

Okay enough of the food, Julia is doing great and continues to amaze us every minute of the day. From the great facial expressions to watching her look around at everything for herself, we are just fixated on her every move.
